The Male has the most  wonderful colours not maturing until his second year .  They arrived in Britain  during the 18th century brought in from China .  They are wonderful first time birds to have to rear being  very quiet and the females with take food from your hand. 
Still not much is known about them in their native country.

Yellow & Golden Male has a loud piercing whistle and is very vocal during the mating season and shows of his bright orange head fan during courtship

I love having the pheasants around and also keep some game birds that I rear for local shoots  they are wonderful interesting birds with lovely calls that attract other wide birds in to the area.
